Amputee Rap

Last week in the audience of the camp I was speaking at sat the sister of Paralympic Ski Racer, Josh Sundquist. I didn't know this until the end of the week when she introduced herself to me and told me that her brother was a motivational speaker who was pretty famous. I quickly (and jokingly) replied, "Is his name Matt Foley?" Bad joke. [crickets] Later I met her father who told me all about his son (Josh) and his remarkable story. It was great getting to meet such cool folks and hear how God has yet again taken something bad and used it for His good.

Check out Josh's site and hear his story for yourself. Show him some love while you're there.

Manic Monday Minute

Manic Monday Minute is a serious mind-dump that will probably take you one minute to read. Here are some thoughts going through my head right now...

This is the Manic Monday Minute...
  • Had an awesome time last week speaking at a camp in Southwest Virginia.
  • I spoke a total of 10 different messages in 5 days.
  • Saw lots of students make decisions!
  • Had fun riding mini bikes, playing carpet ball and showing off my mad skills in archery.
  • I had a blast connecting with students from all over the east coast and speaking.
  • This is what I do when I sing now sometimes...
  • I totally missed 7-11 free slurpee day even though I tweeted about it.
  • Watched Dumb & Dumber last night. I forgot how much I love that movie.
  • Had a long convo with a good friend and church leader today about what the church 'should' be doing. It was a really good conversation over an iced white mocha... that will probably spark future blog posts here.
  • We also talked about the number of leaders who are being let go from their positions due to budget cuts. Once I shared the news about getting cut to part-time people came out of the wood work to tell their stories to me.
  • Have we connected on Facebook? Make it happen [here]
  • Saw a DOT workers memorial over the weekend. Unreal how many workers get killed working on our highways and byways.
  • Please... Help Me Help Philly.
  • Just looked over the list of nominees for the Emmy Awards.
  • Interesting note that Conan Obrien received a few nods while Leno received zero.
  • Why yes, I'd love to present an award if asked.
  • Don't miss the Manic Monday Minute. Get the feed [here].
  • Woah. This massive skateboard rides 16+ people! Now THAT is a youth event waiting to happen.
  • Got treated to Golden Corral this evening by two good friends. The best item there is the mashed potatoes (made from scratch).
  • There are several events I want to attend in Atlanta over the next year. I'm thinking I need an alternate house and office set-up there... Hmm.
  • Thanks for spending a moment with me.

Help Me Help Philly

I'm taking students with me to work on the streets of Philadelphia next week. I went there nearly 3 years ago with a team and we worked with children and teens in the inner city and saw an incredible number of changed lives as a result. The team we've put together will be involved in a variety of ministries from feeding the homeless to ministering in boys & girls clubs in the city.
Our team has been preparing for this experience for months on end now and we've been raising funds to help our team get there; however, we are falling short. I am personally trying to raise $1,000 dollars this week to help us meet our goal. Would you consider helping me? Any donation would be appreciated.
This week (until Friday at 5:00PM EST) I am designating all funds that come through TerraceCrawford.com for this mission. That means, any donation made through PayPal (through the donation link in the sidebar of this site) until 5PM Friday will be marked and used for this Mission.
God has been faithfully meeting my personal needs and I'm trusting Him to meet this financial need too. If you would like to give a gift by mail, please email me. If you cannot give at this time would you consider blogging, tweeting or linking to this via Facebook? I'd be so appreciative of any support you give our team. Thanks most importantly for your prayers.

Manic Monday Minute

Manic Monday Minute is a serious mind-dump that will probably take you one minute to read. Here are some thoughts going through my head right now...

This is the Manic Monday Minute...
  • This weekend the weather was sooo nice. We got a great break from the heat. Who knew even 13 degrees could make such a difference?
  • Haven't seen Toy Story, Twilight or even Shrek yet. Those selections are all on my list of movies to see.
  • Check out this new curriculum from Simply. It's fresh... and its cool.
  • Washed cars with students over the weekend to raise dollas for a mission project we're doing in Philadelphia in July. I hate fundraising, but I'll do it for the kids any day.
  • Had so much fun @ Busch Gardens last week with students that I'm make room for it again this weekend.
  • Read this hilarious article about how actor Steve Martin responds to his fan mail. I think I may start responding to all correspondence I get that way.
  • I think it would be cool to make the list of Google's blogs of note someday. I don't care if my blog makes any other lists - Top 20, Top 100 blah blahs...
  • Great panorama shot of #WorldCup fans. Who do you want to win?
  • Have we connected on Facebook? Make it happen [here]
  • Several folks have asked me to guest blog for them. I hope to fulfill those commitments over the next two weeks.
  • The weather has been PERFECT the past 3 days. Did I say perfect? I meant, PERFECT.
  • I'm speaking at a camp in the mountains of Southwest Virginia this week.
  • Here's a pic of the worship leader, Zach Taylaa, and I in our production meeting.
  • Looking forward to decompressing and laying low a bit this week.
  • I stopped to ask for directions the other day. Later when I was on the road I thought of several other questions I needed to ask to make things a bit clearer for me in route to my destination. Oh God, grant me a GPS.
  • I created a new newsletter for my friends & fam. If you want to be included, go [here]
  • Five traits that Twitterholics share. I found all 5 of these to be true for most twitterholics that I know. =)
  • If you'd like to contribute to the "legend-of-the-rent-is-way-hardcore" fund, feel free to use the donate button in the sidebar. Otherwise, you can find my address in this post - which also explains my current financial pickle.
  • Don't miss the Manic Monday Minute. Subscribe to my feed [here].
  • If you're an alum of CIU, make sure you go vote for your new alumni leadership council - like NOW. I think voting closes tomorrow? Don't hold me to it.
  • God is SO good. I hope to have time to chronicle some of the amazing things He has done recently and share it with you over the next several weeks in a series of posts.
  • I brought several books with me on the trip this week: a church planting book, a memoir, a book to make me laugh for sure, a devotional book and 'the' book.
  • Until next time readers...

Sweet Virginia Mountains

This week I'm speaking at a camp in the beautiful mountains of Southwest Virginia. I'll be laying low and trying to unplug as much as possible to clear my head and enjoy spending time with the one person who loves me more than I will ever understand.

Hilarious Church Sign

Saw this on Josh Griffin's blog. Funny church sign. Wonder if the sign changer person has signed Oprah's No Phone Zone pledge?
