I'd like to provide you, o blog reader, with links to goodness:
Here are some things I ran across in the last few days...

  • This is a great article on how to take your low-traffic site to a whole notha level. What trips me out most about his site is that if you check out the number of readers (according to feedburner) on his site its 6 billion (thats right, you heard me). Isn't that like the number of people on planet earth? ;=)
  • Loved this post about book titles. very creative. very funny!
  • A very thought-provoking, heartfelt-yet-controversial post from this guy (who is actually posting final messages to his blog this week).
  • A friendly holiday shopping guide from Seth Godin (via Zak) and a shopping guide for geeks from Kevin Rose.
  • Congrats to Dabo Swinney Clemson's new head coach! I heard he attends this guy's church.
  • I literally don't enjoy my day as much when this guy doesn't post (its like my cup o java first thing in the morning). It is my favorite blog to read... and not just because he is my friend. Can't wait for the next post...
  • My good friend Josh is now doing movie reviews for YouthMinistry.com. He just reviewed Twilight, a movie that I don't mind mentioning that I enjoyed.

I would have had more links for you but most blogs were very inactive this week... What did I miss?

    Prayer & Politics

Its hard to believe that we are literally a week away from determining who our future president will be. After all the debates, ups and downs and campaigning -- the day will soon come. Tonight we are having a special prayer time at our church for the election and for our country. Barack Obama is also in town speaking. Perhaps I can get him to stop by... :-)

    Linkalicious:
  • Check out Tim Steven's blog this week as he's focusing on the election.
  • Love the new series Ed Young is doing called "Politicked." Caught his message Sunday on the USA network.
  • Christianity Today's coverage of the political arena is pretty good when it comes to hitting the hot topics.
  • Best political shirt I've ever seen.

Here are some things I ran across in the last few days...

  • Carlos Whitaker told us about a new (rock-bandish) musical instrument they are introducing @ Buckhead, which will offer me a huge learning curve.
  • Doug Fields began twittering. There is also a huge challenge to get over 1,000 people following Doug. I'm issuing a challenge to help me reach 10. Twit me here.
  • Josh Griffin got to attend Idol Gives Back courtesy of Jason Castro. I was a little jealous, to be honest. You were too.
  • Craig and Bobby let us know that the One Prayer series site is up and running.
  • Ah yes...Jason Curlee announced my victory in the Madness tourney. I don't want to brag too much -- but, hey, thats all I win for this. Give me some props.
  • I let you in on a little secret to save you gas money.
  • Ben Arment officially lost the cool points with me today. He turned his comments off (even though I totally understand his reasoning). Puh-leeze Ben, reconsider. Leaders who allow comments, in my opinion, take their blogs to a whole notha level. I'll reward you with some gold stars if ya change ur mind Ben.
  • I think Carlos pointed me to this guy's blog. I love it! He is hilarious.
  • Adobe announced a new Photoshop online editing tool in public beta.

Today was such an interesting day... here are a few highlights:

  • I spoke at a school in Norfolk, VA.
  • Met with two leaders, Hank and Tim, to discuss the Emergent Church and solve all the church's problems.
  • Caught up with my good friend Dave Daniels via phone.
  • Received the manuscript of Tim Steven's book to preview and immediately started reading (yep, it's good stuff!)
  • Emailed three different bloggers (Ben, Adam, Shane) to discuss ministry in some form and\or chit-chat.
  • Had an incredible Wednesday service where the message took on a form that I hadn't planned (love when that happens!)
  • Went to one of my favorite places for dinner with friends.
  • Read a hilarious (yet intriguing) post by Tim Sanders. (You'll shower more after reading this.)
  • ... and a scary but funny, yet weird post by Gary Lamb. (I couldn't believe the 'pulpit has a loaded one all ready for post-911 use' comment.)
