A friend alerted me to Mike Huckabee's scheduled appearance on SNL this past Saturday.
I TiVo'd the show and then fast forwarded through until I found him on the Weekend Update segment. It was straight-up-funny and Huck was a natural!
Also, check my recent post about my chat with Huckabee.

I attended the Mike Huckabee rally today in Virginia Beach, VA. I arrived late but managed to get a spot on the press platform and snap a few shots of Huckabee during his speech to the overflow crowd. After his speech he began meeting and greeting folks on the floor in front of the platform. With the sea of people in between he and I, I could not make it to him before he was ushered to the back by his personnel. I walked outside and around the side of the building heading to my car, which was parked down the street (as there was no parking available because of the crowd), and overheard a security guard tell someone Huckabee's location on the opposite side of the complex. So, I treked to the other side out of curiousity (and hoping to get an opportunity to speak with him), and found a secret service gentleman who actually told me that Huckabee was headed for his location for a private meeting with some of the press. Soon the caravan of black suv's pulled up to me and I got to greet the presidential candidate (with no crowd!) and got a picture with him. I spoke with him for just a moment before his security ushered him into the building.

In celebration of SupaTuesday, I thought I'd blog a few random political convo liners I've had with people around Hampton Roads the last few days. Some are pretty funny. Others scary.
Lady: Who are you voting for?
Me: Huckabee
Lady: Really?
Me: Yea, I'm impressed with him.
Me: If I voted democrat I'd probably vote for Barack.
Lady:Well you KNOW who is going to win don't you?
Me: No... who?
Lady: Barack.
Me: How do you know?
Lady: Psychic Sylvia Browne said so!
Me: Oh ok. So are you voting for him?
Lady: Oh me? I'm not registered to vote.
Teen: I watched the State of the Union the other night.
Me: Oh yea?
Teen: Yea.
Teen: I'm a big boy now.
Me: LoL... I watched maybe 20 minutes. I wasn't as interested in this one.
Me: Have you been following the politics?
Man: Oh yea.
Me: Do you know who you are voting for?
Man: Republican.
Me: Any candidate in particular?
Man: Nope.
Lady: Have you been following politics?
Me: Yes I sure have.
Lady: Who are you rooting for?
Me: Huckabee.
Lady: Well, anyone is better than Bush.
Me: You think so huh?
Lady: Yea, I do.
Lady: Remind me who the Vice President is again?
Lady: Who are you voting for?

Many people know that I am a voter. I do think its important to cast your vote. However, I know some who don't feel that way.
I've been asked a lot recently how I plan to vote.
Truthfully, I don't know.
I do think this will be the MOST interesting election EVER. Have you seen all of the candidates? The diversity is unparallel.
I wanted to share two interesting things that have occurred recently that makes me sit and want to stay glued to the tube and net to follow this thing. One, celebrities are weighing in now more than ever. Oprah Winfrey has even stepped forward for the first time in her career to hit the campaign trail with Barack Obama. Thousands are showing up to hear what she and Barack Obama have to say. In fact, in my home state of South Carolina they sold out the 18,000 seat Carolina Center and have moved the event to the 80,000 plus seat Carolina Stadium. Watch part one and part two of her speech.
Two, I've started watching Mike Huckabee after he voiced his thoughts on evolution at a recent debate. I was very impressed with his response. Watch his response on YouTube here.
I'm sure I'll be blogging about this from time to time as the election draws near.
To date I'm not sure who has my vote.
