Blogs Worth Reading?

Blogging has slowed down so much that I'm starting to wonder if certain bloggers have thrown in the towel. I even emailed one of my favorite bloggers this week to ask if he was on sabbatical. With that said, I want to increase the number of blogs I read from 40 to about 80.

So what blogs are worth the read?
Who do you recommend?

    I have a friend (former youth pastor) who has gone through some immense pain through an affair. He's recently posted a series (8 or so) posts on what he's learned through some of it. It's worth a read, even if it's only for reference for helping others through their hurts. You can find it at http://www.davefarwell.com.

    Plus, I'm a youth pastor and I've really picked up my blogging. My topics range from family, youth ministry, personal goals, to little bits of fun that I post for random enjoyment. Mine can be found at http://www.thinknextnow.com.

    Keep it up man! Thanks for your blog!

    I think that while following a distinct list of blogs on a regular basis really helps you to build relationships and form online community, there's also something to be said for taking a walk in the woods to see where you end up; such as:

    **Checking out the Alltop "Church" and Alltop "Christianity" pages and clicking on a post that grabs you;

    **Doing a Google blog search -- or Wordpress.com search -- on a particular word or phrase, just to see who is out there and what they're writing about;

    **Visiting a favorite blog and then checking out their blogroll to see what sites they consider important;

    **Bookmarking the bloggers that do link lists on certain days and letting them do some of the exploration and discovery for you.

    Yes, this takes a lot of time, but so does fishing, and a lot of people seem to enjoy that sort of thing. I'm just not sure that locking into a fixed list is the only way to do this.

    My former BCM minister has a great blog. He planted a church in my college's town in Arkansas and is now the pastor at a church in Blacksburg, VA.
